Give yourself a piece of nature by visiting one of the most remote natural parks of
Venezuela, "Isla de Turuepano", located south of the Paria Peninsula is the habitat of birds like the Scarlet
Ibis know in that area as "Corocoras".
We start from Isla Margarita or the airport of Carupano, we go by bus crossing the mountains
until we come to the town of Ajies from where we board the boats that will take us thru Caño Ajies passing Isla Turuepano until reaching Orinoco Paria
Camp, this 16 room camp will e our base for trips and excursions in the River Jungle. Ofter lunch at camp we initiate the trips that depending on tides
we can do at this magical place.
One of those excursions will have a 45 minute walk in the jungle until reaching a waterfall
where we spend a good hour for bathing and resting, among the way our guide will describe the different plants and animals that live in the area.
Before sunset of our first day we will go to the island where the birds rest for the night,
on certain times of the year these islands will host tens of thousands of Scarlet Ibis being a unique spectacle of nature.
Other excursions available include fishing, a visit to the town of Guariquen, walking of the
island up to the Mirador and if luck is on our side we can spot dolphins and manatees in the wild, trips on curiaras (Warao indean typical boat), etc.
